I like to draw from art in museums and galleries - drawing helps me pay attention to and learn from what I'm seeing. This image is a drawing made from Tarh Miskina and Amal Mansur's Akbar at the V and A. I have also drawn from La Tela Real by Velasquez in the National Gallery so I was intrigued to draw from another depiction of a 'ring hunt' (Qamargah) - there's something about the containment and spectacle of both of these images that felt relevant to lockdown.
Shipping is free within the UK - please get in touch for shipping costs if you would like it sent unframed overseas
